I’m going to show you step-by-step how to pick the right keywords for your domain and website content.
STEP 1.
FIRSTLY you are going to collect the TOP 15 most popular keyword search terms from Google.
To do this simply click the link below to access Google’s Free keyword search tool;
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
I want you to SEARCH using the top keywords/phrases that YOU collected earlier in lesson 1.
FOR EXAMPLE: Below is one of my affiliate website’s: TotallyKitchens.com
So i would do a search using my most popular keywords first;
I then ORDER the results by ‘Global Monthly Search Volume’ so you can see the most popular searched keywords at the top.
NOW i want create a new text or excel document and SAVE THE TOP 15 most popular search terms.
STEP 3.
Now we need to filter our the most competitive keywords so we can focus on building traffic for those WITHOUT as much competition.
To do this we need to refer back to google search and perform EXACT MATCH searches on the keywords we just saved.
I want you to pay close attention to the NUMBER OF RESULTS Google finds for each keyword search.
NOW SAVE the results next to the keyword in your text/excel document like the screen shot below;
I want you to IGNORE or DELETE the TOP 5 competitive keywords because they will be too competitive for your new website. We will be focusing on the LESS COMPETETIVE KEYWORDS.
STEP 3.
Now what i want you to do is go over to Word Tracker using the link below;
http://www.shopperpress.com/link/word-tracker/
I want you to create a new account or login to your existing one and CREATE A NEW PROJECT with an easy to remember name that’s related to your website, such as “totallykitchens”.
Now we are going to click FIND KEYWORDS and create some NEW keyword searches that will find more accurate keywords and phrase visitors are searching for.
NOW i want you to copy/paste the keywords you found in good and paste them into the Wordtracker keyword toolbox.
Perform a BROARD MATCH keyword search and order the results by the HIGHEST SEARC COUNT
Until next week,
